MMT and LowER-AD Mission Computers

NTA-designed and validated the custom Xilinx Zynq SoC mission computers used to control the Army’s newest R&D missile platforms: MMT and LowER-AD. Custom VHDL IP was developed to communicate with missile subsystems, configure system synchronization, and merge missile telemetry data for RF transmission. Bare metal C++ applications were developed to host real-time autopilot software, control missile power supplies, coordinate launch events, and marshal data transfer between subsystems. An NTA-designed inertial and GPS navigator executed in parallel in an independent RTOS, and the control application and HDL modules synchronized data exchange with the autopilot. NTA provided HWIL integration support and real-time data analysis to verify operation of both the mission computer hardware and missiles as a whole.
